Keech endeavours recognised for lifetime achievement

Keech Australia has been announced as a finalist in three categories of the 2015 Manufacturer’s Monthly Endeavour Awards.

After winning the ‘Most Innovative Manufacturing Company’ title last year, Keech CEO Dr Herbert Hermens said he is proud of the company’s efforts to be recognised again in 2015 in the categories of technology, industrial products and lifetime achievement.

“Regardless of whether we win this year, being recognised as a finalist is great industry recognition for the achievements of the Keech family and their business,” said Dr Hermens.

Keech Australia’s efforts to modernise and increase sustainability over more than 80 years were two factors considered by judges when sildenafildosage.com choosing 2015 finalists for the Lifetime Achievement award.

Both David Keech and Garth Keech have given a lifetime of service to the family business, commencing on the foundry floor in 1974. In 1991 the cousins purchased the Sydney-based business from their fathers and moved the company to Bendigo in 1995. From a single foundry David and Garth have transformed a family business into a global company known for its innovation and expertise. In the last few years they have built a second foundry, established a quality and innovation centre and opened subsidiaries – Keech 3D Advanced Manufacturing, Keech Mining Supplies and Keech Chile (in South America).

In the technology category, Keech’s nomination highlighted the company’s entry into advanced manufacturing and the impact of that strategic direction on its business operations. In 2014 Keech 3D Advanced Manufacturing was launched, investing $1 million in Australia’s largest commercial 3D printing machinery. The new Keech subsidiary offers services including 3D printing, design and advanced manufacturing, and has recently signed a historic agreement with CSIRO to share use of CSIRO’s multi-million dollar metals printing facility and further Keech’s capabilities in metals printing.

In the Industrial Category Keech was recognised for its technical expertise and commitment to product development. The company’s KeeLiner product was chosen as a finalist.

The Endeavour Awards were established to recognise manufacturing companies that contribute to Australia’s economic output and has since recognised some of the most respected manufacturing companies, including Keech over several years.
